TiTou Gorge

TiTou Gorge is a beautiful cold water river gorge located close to the village of Laudat. On the way you will pass fantastic scenery.

The Gorge was used as the location of the cage scene in Pirates of the Caribbean I.

Freshwater Lake

The lake is full of fish and just like it’s name - is filled with fresh water. As one of the highest accessible points on the island, it is known to have a lot of rainfall. It has a cooler climate than you’ll find in Roseau or lower down the mountain.

WHAT TO KNOW

Laudat is one of the highest villages in Dominica and it’s known for it’s rainfall. It’s so high up that you won’t see many coconuts growing, but you could see lemons, limes, avocados, bay trees and oranges.

Look out across the valley and you will see a mountain to the north. Over that mountain is the 2nd biggest boiling lake in the world.

Fruits and flora

Agriculture is one of Dominica’s biggest industries. Make sure that you visit the fruit market if you have time to view all the wonderful produce that is grown on the island.

Animals

You could see goats, cows and maybe the odd donkey on the island. There are plenty of wild hens and roosters walking around too.
